ThermoTrauma offers an innovative solution to help combat hypothermia in injured patients: the patented Therm-Up® heated breastplate..

Dr. Thomas Spadoni (emergency physician) and Rémy Bergon (helicopter mechanic) conceived the idea in 2021 in Briançon, France. Franck Fauriel (ski patrol and mountain rescue specialist) and Pierre Sévila (engineering & marketing) immediately believed in the concept, and together, the four of them founded ThermoTrauma. Dr. Charlotte Maurin (urological surgeon) soon joined the venture to help develop this groundbreaking device..

Therm’Up was born from extensive experience in emergency and mountain rescue.

Fighting hypothermia in trauma patients is a matter of life and death: when body temperature drops below 34°C, mortality rates reach 30 to 50%.

However, the methods currently used by emergency responders are insufficient.

ThermoTrauma developed the Therm-Up® heated breastplate to provide active warming. Far more effective than a standard emergency blanket, the vest is applied directly to the patient’s torso and integrates seamlessly into emergency care protocols. Its batteries provide 4 to 6 hours of autonomy.

The vest is designed for use by all first responders — physicians, EMS teams, military medical services, rescue organizations, the Red Cross — in any environment and under any weather conditions.

After three years of research, development, and field testing, the vests are now manufactured in France, near Lyon, and are available for purchase.
